Study Content

The three-semester Master's degree program in Computer Science is a continuation of the Bachelor's programs in Applied Computer Science or Business Information Systems at Offenburg University. It is also suitable, however, for graduates of other, related courses of study (under certain conditions, if applicable).

Students in this program obtain advanced technical and academic competencies in areas such as software architectures, parallel computing and artificial intelligence. In addition, students select one out of two specializations:

  • Advanced Software Engineering: With courses in Model-Driven Software Development, Advanced Networking and Mobile Computing, among others, this specialization qualifies graduates for advanced software development in a wide variety of fields, methods and platforms.
  • Data Science and Analytics: The handling and management of large amounts of data, as well as their evaluation for expanding knowledge or for machine learning in AI applications, are key technologies of the 21st century. Students with this specialization acquire in-depth knowledge in data science, data mining and big data analytics.

Thanks to a special course-schedule arrangement, this program is also highly suitable for students who need to be more flexible in their studies because of part-time employment, family responsibilities or other reasons.
