Medical Engineering

The Bachelor's degree in medical technology serves the professional and scientific education in biomedical technology, a field which is characterized by a high degree of interdisciplinarity. In addition to the specific medical-engineering subjects, students acquire knowledge in natural science, electrical engineering, computer science and medicine.

The curriculum of the MT program includes two study and research focuses which were chosen very deliberately, as they are in particularly high demand for graduates, both on the local job market and beyond:

  • Neurosciences, with specializations in neuro-imaging, neuro-systems, neuro-stimulation and neuro-acoustics as well as
  • Cardiosciences, with specializations in cardio imaging, electro-stimulation, high-frequency ablation and biosignal analysis.

To intensify the training, teaching sessions are also held at medical institutions such as the Lahr Heart Center, the Epilepsy Center in Kehl-Kork and Freiburg University Hospital.
