Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EI)

The EI program focuses on information-processing and electrical engineering. Electrical and information technology is the basis for modern systems and applications such as smartphones, robots, wireless sensor networks, smart grids, electric cars, Industry 4.0 or Internet of Things (IoT). The EI study course at Offenburg University teaches the foundation of methods and specialist knowledge necessary for understanding such systems and developments, and for contributing to their development in the future as an engineer.

Electrical engineering and information technology are key elements in a wide variety of sectors and industries. The EI program therefore offers a solid, practice-oriented and cross-sectoral education and, in the further course of study, a choice of attractive specializations to take account of the great complexity of the field. These include:

  • Automation Engineering
  • Communication Systems Engineering
  • E-Mobility
  • Embedded Systems
  • Power Engineering
