Since 2009, Offenburg University's magma team has 'taught' simulated robots how to play soccer. The simulated, physically realistic Nao robots play in the RoboCup 3D soccer simulation league. Led by Professor Dorer, the team has participated in the RoboCup world championships since 2009. 'Step by step,' showing considerable progress every year, the members of the team have taught the robots to get up, walk, kick a ball and many other movements. By the year 2050, according to the RoboCup community, a robot team should be able to challenge the human FIFA champions.
